Presenta:
Experience an electrifying evening of Afro-Cuban jazz with Jesús “Chuchito” Valdés, a third-generation maestro of Cuban music and one of the most influential figures in contemporary Latin jazz. Accompanied by his dynamic jazz trio, Chuchito pays tribute to the rich Cuban musical tradition and to the legacy of his grandfather Bebo Valdés and his father Chucho Valdés, two legendary icons who shaped the sound of Afro-Cuban jazz around the world.
About the Artist:
Jesús “Chuchito” Valdés is the heir to a powerful musical dynasty that has transformed the landscape of Cuban jazz. A pianist, composer, and arranger, Chuchito has developed a distinctive style that fuses the rhythmic and melodic richness of traditional Cuban genres—such as mambo, danzón, cha-cha-chá, and son montuno—with the sophistication of modern jazz. His piano virtuosity evokes jazz greats like Oscar Peterson and Monty Alexander, while his artistic voice is deeply rooted in the Afro-Caribbean tradition. Over the course of his career, Chuchito has released ten acclaimed albums and has been nominated for the Latin Grammys on seven occasions.
Adding to the evening’s musical richness, the concert will feature special guest artist Nader Khaledi, an Iranian multi-instrumentalist celebrated for his mastery of Persian percussion and flamenco guitar. His unique musical perspective creates a cross-cultural dialogue that enhances the Afro-Cuban rhythms with Middle Eastern textures, promising a truly global and unforgettable performance.
