Presents:
Raquel Kurpershoek Jaldón (1998, Amsterdam) is a singer and songwriter raised between Spain and the Netherlands. From an early age, she developed a deep love for music, influenced by a family environment full of art: her Andalusian mother, a flamenco dance teacher, passed on her passion for rhythm and movement, while her father, an art historian and traveler, introduced her to the musical richness of different cultures.
Specializing in Latin American music, Raquel studied in the World Music department at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where she explored diverse genres and traditions, expanding her ability to blend styles.
In 2020, she directed Traslasierra, an autobiographical documentary that explores the connection between music and deaf people, demonstrating that emotions are a universal language. This project received international recognition, including acknowledgment from the European Pillar of Social Rights.
Her projects stand out for their integration of cultures, social inclusion, and artistic innovation. In recognition of her impact on culture, she recently received Spain’s prestigious National Culture Award.
She is accompanied by:
Francisco Rodriguez – Piano
Danny Rombout – Percussion
The acoustic format and the historic setting of Casa El Nigromante provide the perfect stage for a close, elegant, and deeply moving sonic experience.
