Based in Rotterdam, Loek van den Berg is a saxophonist and composer known for his lyrical, accessible, and deeply expressive sound. His music weaves together rich melodies, dynamic interplay, and inspired improvisation—taking listeners on an emotional, story-driven journey.
A graduate of the Codarts Conservatory, van den Berg has earned major accolades, including the Erasmus Jazz Prize (2019), Best Composition at the Dutch Jazz Competition (2022), and the Edison Jazz Award for New Talent (2023). He has also been recognized as a “rising star” of Dutch jazz by NRC Handelsblad.
Together with his quintet, he has toured internationally across India, Spain, Malta, and Turkey, crafting a distinctive sound that blends contemporary jazz with global influences.
