Biography
Alberto Daniel Quintanilla is one of the most prominent guitarists of his generation in Mexico. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee under the guidance of René Izquierdo. He holds an Honorable Mention in his Bachelor’s degree in Music from the Conservatorio de las Rosas. Alberto has performed concerts at significant venues in Mexico and the United States, including the Museo Nacional de Arte and the Latin Guitar Fest in Chicago. He has won 35 national and international awards, notably achieving 1st place in competitions such as the International Guitar Competition of Culiacán and the National Guitar Competition of Querétaro. His style is characterized by an exceptional balance of technical prowess and musicality.
Antonio Laguna Barrientos, originally from Mexico City, began his musical training at the age of six with Juan Carlos Laguna and graduated with honors from the Escuela Superior de Música del INBA. He has taken courses with world-renowned masters and has been a recipient of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts scholarship. His career includes recitals in Austria, Costa Rica, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, and Venezuela, and he has performed as a soloist with various prominent orchestras. Laguna has won numerous national and international competitions and is a frequent guest artist and jury member at guitar festivals. He has composed works for the guitar and is the founder and artistic director of the International Guitar Festival “La Región más transparente”. Currently, he coordinates the Bachelor’s program in classical guitar at the Centro Morelense de las Artes and is an exclusive artist of Savarez Strings.
